Meet your hosts Mike and Handan
We are passionate about the hospitality business!
Handan is an American with Turkish roots and has been a proud resident of the United States since 1996. With her educational background in Hotel Management and Tourism from Turkiye, she brings a wealth of experience from working at prestigious hotels before making the move to the US. She also holds a distinguished degree in Business Marketing with cum laude honors from OTC in Springfield, MO. Michael is a seasoned veteran, having served in both the US Navy and Army. Growing up in Missouri, he always dreamed of returning to his roots. With a background in electronics and expertise as a software engineer, he brings a unique skill set to the table. Together, they have been the proud owners of Hunter’s Friend Resort since 2003. Their beautiful twin daughters, Chloe and Mackenzie, complete their loving family. They share their love for travel, boating, and creating unforgettable memories with their friends and cherished guests.

We believe in going above and beyond expectations. That’s why we offer free movies for kids, ensuring that families can enjoy quality entertainment during their stay. We were also the pioneers on Indian Point to introduce 32″ LCD televisions in every room. And now, we’ve upgraded to state-of-the-art 55-inch LED TVs with DVD players, providing our guests with an immersive viewing experience. Moreover, our kitchenettes feature induction range tops – a first at any resort in the entire United States! Guests can indulge in modern conveniences while preparing their meals.
But it’s not just about the luxuries. We are committed to sustainability and energy efficiency. That’s why every room is equipped with LED lighting, double-paned high-efficiency windows, and high SEER rated HVAC units. We’ve also replaced old refrigerators with new energy-efficient models. These efforts were recognized by the city of Branson when we were awarded the prestigious Green Energy Award in 2017. As a testament to our dedication to environmental responsibility, we are proud to be the only resort on Indian Point with Level 2 Electric Vehicle charging stations.
Giving back to the community
We strongly believe in the power of giving back. There’s nothing more fulfilling than being part of something greater than ourselves. Over the years, our resort has helped raise over $500,000 for the Shriners Children’s Hospital of Saint Louis through our annual event. We have shown our gratitude to our military by offering complimentary rooms to active duty members on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. We have also extended our kindness to a remarkable family who adopted seven children by providing them with free accommodations. Each year, we strive to make a positive impact on lives and contribute to the community that has supported us wholeheartedly.
